I can't express in words how much I love the painting you did of my son Ethan. My daughter Summer and her husband brought it to me this evening and I was overcome with emotion. I had no idea the girls had planned this surprise for me.
The painting is exquisite as I knew it would be when I saw who the artist was. I immediately looked at the eyes in the painting. You have such amazing talent with eyes.
I hung the painting in a prominent place, out of reach of the 22 grandchildren we have. I can't wait to get an appropriate frame for it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is a beautiful likeness and I can't stop looking at it. It makes me feel so happy and sad at the same time. He passed away at such a young age all those years ago.
The painting is even more special since I met and feel like I know the artist. This will be a treasured keepsake for our entire family.
Sincerely,
Terra G, St. George, UT

We met Mark and his lovely family when they moved to our neighborhood while he was attending The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. When we saw his work we knew we wanted him to paint portraits of our grandchildren. We were amazed at the quality and details that he captured with his brushes.
All five portraits are prominently displayed and enjoyed every day. Mark has painted two other paintings for us, one a landscape and the other a still life which we also pride. His eye to detail is phenomenal! We were sad when Mark and his family returned to Utah but we stay up to date with his incredible works of art.

Julie and I have a small home in St. George, Utah. We truly love the opportunity to get away and enjoy the beauties of southern Utah. The red rocks, slot canyons, and desert vegetation are spectacular, and change with every season.
We thought it would be fun to have Mark paint a scene from Zion National Park, portrayed in the four different seasons. He did an incredible job, and we couldn’t be happier. It helps us preserve the many memories we have from the park and the surrounding area.
Thanks Mark, it is amazing!

We met Mark at a show in Scottsdale Arizona several years ago. His booth displaying his talents was a showstopper. Wonderful color, light, and realistic forms in various perspectives. A very unique view of a young girl with her dog from ground level along with a series of paintings on a single canvas of seven different facial expressions of the same model. These paintings have a true wow factor.
Our purchase of “Loft Light” graces our home and collection of original art. The softness of the light along with the innocence of the model, his daughter at 11, continues to get my notice on a daily basis. I feel confident there will be another purchase of Marks talent in the near future.

My wife and I frequent the art shows yearly here in Scottsdale and have had the joy of seeing amazing works of art and meeting the artists behind them. Several years ago, as we were strolling through the Fine Arts art show here in Scottsdale, we were stopped in our tracks by a piece called “Little King, Jesus in Egypt”, created by Mark B. Goodson.
Our first attraction was the fact that the child in the piece so closely resembled each of our five children when they were young. Then when we heard it was called “Little King, Jesus in Egypt”, the words of Genesis 1:27, “God created man in his own image” came to mind and made it even more meaningful to us.
As we often do, we went home to think about it, and it spoke to us again and again over the next couple of years until we were compelled to reach back out to Mark, and to our great delight, the original piece was still available! Mark graciously shipped it to us (on our timeline) in an amazing reclaimed wood frame that compliments every inch of the room in which it is hung.
We keep finding more symbolism in the piece the longer we live with it. The single white flower to us symbolizes love and hope, and the purity of God’s love for his people, so much so that he sent us his only son, our savior, in the form of a beautiful child.
So, long story short.... We are so blessed to have met Mark Goodson and to have been able to bring this beautiful treasure into our home.

I own one of Mark Goodson’s landscape paintings (L.I.F.E.).
I’ve found in my purchases of art that sometimes a painting I thought I would love actually loses its luster over time. But this Goodson piece I have, is exactly the opposite. The longer I’ve owned it the more it means to me. The more I look at it, the more I see.
It’s not just that he has accurately and skillfully depicted a scene that is very dear to me — it’s that he has artistically interpreted that scene in a way that enriches my memory of it and adds immeasurably to its beauty.

Thank you for the Authenticity Packets. I can’t imagine how long it took you to put all of these together. They will be keepsakes for Joyce and me and our family.
We first discovered your work by accident. Our home is about a mile away from your gallery and we wandered upstairs one day out of curiosity. We have been art collectors, especially of Utah art, for many years. When we walked up to your gallery, we were literally blown away by the quality and size of your art.
At the time, you were working on an intricate lace wedding gown in a large portrait. We were so impressed by the insight and imagination you put into your paintings.
We have only purchased small pieces so far, but each one is special to us. Each of our four children has one of your miniatures displayed and each painting is an eye-catcher.
Your work is very exciting and happy, as well as extremely skillful. We intend to buy more. In fact, we have a wall reserved in our new river home for a commission we want you to do.

We like your artwork as you have a great gift to capture not just what you see but what you feel.
We have five sons who all wore black and white oxford shoes when they were young, and so your painting Little Oxfords was "a must", because of the memories it brought back. It is a treasure.
Thank you for sharing your talent and blessing many lives.

I first became familiar with artist Mark B.Goodson when my husband gifted me with painting lessons. I’m not an artist, but Mark’s patience and genuine desire to teach made for a very fun year, and I improved drastically. He helped me see colors and the world in a completely different way, because his attention to detail is unlike anything I have seen.
Mark’s style is quite simply: precise and perfect. He paints everyday objects and turns them extraordinary. Something as boring as a jar comes alive when Mark paints it, and you can’t help but stare and want to be in that world with that jar.
I knew I had to own a Mark Goodson original someday, but that day came sooner than expected when I saw “On Golden Waters”. It’s a landscape, but so unique from others I’ve seen. Most artists would have focused on the ominous view of Snowbasin to the south, but Mark turned his sights north, towards Mt. Ben Lomond. That’s what Mark does, though, he sees more than other artists see. The mountains are in shadow and dark, which lets Mark truly work his magic in the sky and the gorgeous evening water. I can’t say enough about what joy this painting brings to me. It is calm and relaxed, while also encompassing every last breathtaking detail.
I truly could go on forever praising Mark and his art. I’m so glad we bought the painting. I’m already saving up for my second.

We are so excited ~ we got this beautiful painting of Jesus “The Lamb of God” for our anniversary. I cleaned our home really well this morning, in anticipation of Jesus coming home this afternoon.
We love it!
Thank you Mark - you are so inspired by Him! Keep up the miraculous work!

While taking a walk in Huntsville, we noticed Mark Goodson’s gallery, and walked in to see his art. We were immediately impressed with his work. We had been planning to have a picture of the view from our prior home on the Washington coast turned into a painting. Mark was the obvious great choice.
After we engaged Mark, he visited our home to see the room and light where the picture would hang, and to access sizing. He also returned to hang the completed painting.
Now, with the painting in our home, we couldn’t be more pleased. Mark’s rendering is much more striking than the original photograph, with vibrant coloring and a three dimensional feel. We enjoy it every day, and when we are hosting friends or family, “Sunset Over the Olympic Peninsula” always draws people in and receives compliments.

Mark is wonderful to work with his clients in composing and completing a painting that enhances the clients’ vision.
We are fortunate to have had him create beautiful and meaningful art to be part of our life.

When I first saw this painting of Father Patrick, it reminded me of his holiness. I met him only a few times at the Monastery, and each time, although he knew me not, he made me feel like an expected guest in his bookstore. He was so Holy and made everyone feel that way.
This picture will be above my kitchen sink where he will bless me everytime I wash dishes and feed my family & friends.

It isn’t often that a piece of art can preserve with perfect clarity a single moment in time. Yet that is what Mark Goodson has done. Mark captured for us a precious moment spent with our five children on the shore of the Outer Banks.
It was the end of a perfect day spent enjoying the sand and the sea. As we walked towards home, we observed that each child was held by the others in a place of belonging and love. Luckily we snapped a picture!
Today standing before this painting takes us back to a sacred space when all five children were still at home, and no one had yet thought about growing up or moving on.
The ability to preserve one moment in time, with all the light and the love and the emotion that existed in that moment, is a special gift. Our painting will allow us to revisit this precious time for the rest of our lives, and for that we are grateful.
We have a piece of art we love, and in addition, we have a cherished friendship. Mark is passionate about his art and his clients who very quickly become his friends. We highly recommend Mark as an artist, a friend, and a person who uses his passion and his unique gift to make special memories last forever.

We chose to have an original oil painting done because we wanted the painting to include personal elements that mean something to us. We are particularly fond of a specific ski resort mountain range, and the valley below it. Here we have made many fond memories with our family.
We loved working with Mark. He took the time to drive around the valley with us, and look at the mountain range from different angles, this included looking at a particular field in the valley as a possible view for the painting. He offered suggestions and also came to our cabin to determine just how large the painting should be on the wall where we wanted it placed. He was very easy to work with, and took all of our 'requests' into consideration.
We love our original painting, and think it looks beautiful in the great room of our cabin. It is a true focal point of the room, and receives many compliments from friends that visit.

The moment Dan entered Mark’s studio in Huntsville he fell in love with the stunning painting of a pair of beloved, worn, and nostalgic Chuck T’s. We have both had many versions of those same shoes in our lifetimes and seeing such an everyday object through Marks’s eyes was very special.
It has pride of place in our newly renovated family room and we are so proud to show this very large and impressive painting to our dear friends and extended family. People remark on it always and we’ve even had casual acquaintances ask if they can come to our house to see the painting of the Chucks.
Mark was a dream to work with, he is obviously very talented and also very kind and accommodating. I purchased this for Dan secretly, as a gift for his 50th birthday, and Mark was beyond helpful in arranging shipping to our home in New Jersey. We truly value this painting.
And Mark, we wish you every success and only joy in your continued career.

When we saw Mark’s work, we were astounded at his incredible ability to portray people perfectly—almost like a photograph.
We wanted to capture the fleeting childhood of our children in fine art, and so we reached out to Mark Goodson to help us make that dream come true.
Mark worked with us to curate the perfect piece of artwork of our children. He was wonderful to work with. He read through the bedtime stories we wanted to base the painting on so he could get to know the characteristics, and personalities, and roles each of our children play in these stories written by their dad.
He helped us find costumes to fit the characters. He found a beach location to photograph our children, and props that would help make the scene come alive. We then helped to choose the photos that best represented each child’s face and personality.
Then for months he worked tirelessly to create the masterpiece that now hangs in our living room. He allowed us and our children to interrupt him anytime to see the progress. It was an inspiring experience to watch him work out each layer of the painting.
We couldn’t be more pleased with the result. We know it will be a source of great joy for us throughout our lives as we reflect on the magic of childhood and the love we feel for our children whose faces are perfectly captured in Mark’s Serendipity painting.

When we moved to Mountain Green, we purchased a large print for a space in our front room but promised ourselves in a few years we would find a local artist to create a painting to replace it. 12 years later, we decided our Christmas gift for that year would finally be that painting. We started our search for an artist and after some weeks we passed Mark Goodson’s van just before the exit to Mountain Green. We noticed he followed us off the interstate on to Old Highway Rd and then up Trapper’s Loop. Before turning off into our neighborhood we slowed and took a picture of his van—which included his phone number.
Mark was responsive and met us within days of the initial phone call. We showed him where we wanted the painting and began discussing a few sites we had in mind for a painting. Originally, we thought a painting of Morgan valley would be our choice, but in the ensuing years we had spent a lot of time in the Snowbasin area. After 12 years of skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, and biking there it seemed the natural choice.
Scouting sites became a collaborative effort with Mark that included picking the subject, season, scene details, colors, and so on. Mark made that effort fun and interesting as we met a few times to look at unique mountain scenes from different perspectives. Mark helped at each step with suggestions and ideas from his artistic eye and experience to aid us in achieving our vision. He found a great spot near the turnoff from Trapper’s to Snowbasin that gave a wonderful view of the basin. Soon, he sent us a handful of sketches of the view we had decided on. We chose one and picked fall as the season and he soon began the work. Now it was Mark’s time to bring the ideas to life. We received regular updates that included photos of the progress—we also drove to his studio a few times to see the work in progress. It was exciting and satisfying to watch Mark’s creativity and skill bring the mountain to life.
We hoped to have the painting completed and ready to hang in our home before Christmas and Mark delivered. What a thrill it was when he arrived with the finished painting and hung it expertly on the wall.
The painting has hung gracefully in its spot for several years now and it’s as gratifying today as when it was hung on that December day. We spend more time in the room than we did before the painting was completed. Our family and guests have been as thrilled as we are when they first see the painting and will stand and admire the beauty of the scene and Mark’s artistry as we point out meaningful details.
Thanks to Mark’s work and talent, our home feels more personal to us and connects our inner space to our outer surroundings. We love having this image of Snowbasin on a wall of our home in the form of an original landscape painting by Mark B. Goodson.
