Little baby, tiny girl, have a dance, take a whirl.
 
Giving frilly shoes to a baby or a little girl is a delightful means of expressing love, and finding joy.
 
They strap them on and spin and twirl, play princess and pretend they are not such a little girl.
 
Then girls grow up, they put on heels, now it’s with boys they want to dance, to spin, to reel.
 
Treasured items from your life, or the lives of loved ones, are excellent subject matter for paintings to hang on your walls.
 
I enjoy the strength of contrast between the dark values and the naturallight in this little painting. One nice touch is the bit of reflected color inside each shoe.
