Bertie is the sharp, vivacious, and likable mother of one of my cherished patrons, Spencer Young Sr.
 
Bertie was delightful to work with as I met with her at her home and discussed what elements she would like to have in her portrait. The setting has her leaning against the railing of her second story back deck with the beautiful DogWood trees behind her. The pearls hint of her elegant attributes, while her open over shirt speaks of her appreciation of casual comfort with a good book.
 
Bertie is a delightful woman.
It was an honor to paint her portrait.
