Dressed and ready, but not yet mounted to ride, the Lord walks on the clouds with his horse.
 
In Revelations 19:11, 13 we read “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. And he was clothed in a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.”
 
My intention, when photographing the model and horse, was to create paintings of Christ and his horse from the front view (which I will do), but during the photo shoot I happened to capture this tender moment of the two walking away.Later, as I pondered this image, various ideas and inspiration began working in me. Gradually the elements you now see in this painting fell into place, with some tender little surprises occurring even while I painted.
 
Others who were involved in helping me with this work of art include: Josh Jones, now of Alaska, modeled as Jesus. Elokwent is the Arabian endurance horse, he is the pride and joy of owner Holly Davies Bertram of Huntsville, Utah. Shari Ohman of Spanish Fork, Utah, designed,  dyed and created the red robes. She delivered the robes, and attended the photo shoot as a specialist assistant. Randy Parker of Ray’s Shoe repair in Kaysville, Utah, custom made the sandals to replicate those of the period.
 
With the current state of the world we live in, it is a hopeful thought that the Prince of Peace will be Coming Soon.
