Copper Ladles

Copper Ladles

Copper Ladles | 19”x 22” | Oil on Canvas

This is one of 5 paintings of French kitchen implements I did for a cafe at L’Auberge du Lac in Lake Charles, Louisiana. They hang together in a group in the front area of the cafe. It was fun gathering the various items, working out the compositions and doing the paintings.
Here we see three utensils leaning directly back against a light toned, textured wall. There are multiple light sources so the cast iron handles each have two shadows cast onto the wall.
The copper heads on the left and right utensils are ladles. The left ladle is deep, while the right one is wider and more shallow.
The center utensil is a serving fork.
The foreground surface is a darker color with smooth texture to it.
