Nothing was more fun in a sand box than the Mighty Tonka big yellow dump truck. Excavating and hauling, building roads as well as heaping-up huge piles of sand. Of course it was also fun to run the truck down the driveway, even if the dump did sometimes pop up and nail you in the forehead. There were even good times to be had by setting a little sister in the back and pushing her down the sidewalk.

In those days these mighty trucks were made of metal and had real rubber tires. They even had a TV commercial where an elephant stepped on one and did no damage. This bigger-than-life image of a “good-times” truck evokes fun and happy feelings.

You can also see other toys in the sand. No doubt there are even more toys buried, ready to be rediscovered, and played with. Good times a comin’.
