Montana Cabin (greeting card)
Lancaster | 7”x 5” | Greeting Card
Commissioned by a daughter for her father, this place is a memory making family-get-away.
He provided me with photographs of the various elements he wanted in the painting. I brought these things together so they were all in the scene at once. For example: the principle mountain would actually be ‘off screen’ to the left. The Elk on the right were brought in from separate images. The fences were manipulated a bit, and the stream was shifted into place from the right. All of these things were there, just shifted together so they could be enjoyed in the painting while far from the cabin.
Although what I do is artwork, situations like this can seem a bit like artmagic, as I magnify the viewer’s pleasure in bringing meaningful things together.
