Seldon Young Sr. has been very involved in producing The Swan Princess animated movies, 12 movies to date.
 
In this oil painting, Seldon appears before the Swan Princess castle along with four of the animated animal characters; A “real” person in an animated world.
 
To make it even more delightful, Seldon is wearing each of the four colorful suits he had made. These have Swan Princess logos, and animated characters all over them. Seldon wears these suits in his travels around the world. He told me “It’s a great way to disappear, because people pay so much attention to the suits, they hardly even notice him.”
 
During the photo shoot for this painting, Seldon too was quite animated as he worked with make-up artist Jillian Silva (jillianrubymua@gmail.com), and professional photographers Jake Garn (jsg@jakegarn.com), and Bryan Butterfield (bryan@imageandfilm.com) to capture a variety of action poses in each suit. This gave me many images to choose from as I worked out the composition.
 
Seldon’s daughter Eden was also a great help. She searched through many digital animation files to give me animal characters to choose from as I worked them into the paintings composition.
 
In the end, my months of composing, laying out, and painting this canvas has brought a timeless work of art into the real life of a great client, creative powerhouse, and very fun man… Mr. Seldon Young Sr.
