Spurs (greeting card)

This set of spurs belonged to my father-in-law, S. Ivan Quist, a fine man, and true horseman. For this painting I placed the spurs in the sand at one end of my horseshoe pit. Playing horseshoes is as close as I get to being a cowboy. I entered this little painting into Ogden’s, Traces of the West art show, and won the grand prize.
