Sunny

Sunny | 11”x 17” | Oil on Canvas 

I was delighted when Sunny’s human, Kelly Dailey Hunsaker came into my studio with Sunny so I could meet her and get a bit of a feel for her playful personality as well as her good looks. 
 
Working from a photo refrence taken by her husband Jerald, Kelly and I worked out how to simplify the background. This enhanced the painting nicely.

In the painting we see Sunny sitting on a couch with her right front foreleg coming forward along the back of the couch. Her goldish eyes face the viewer with a direct, knowing stare, while her curly blond hair testifies of its deep, soft, cuddly feel.

Sunny’s name is engraved on the shinny heart shaped tag hanging from her collar. The deeper space beyond Sunny consists of a gray stone wall which gets darker moving down.
